As a recent Princeton graduate who cares deeply about the environment, I hope we remain ambitious about reducing our investment in fossil fuels. I understand the argument for engaging with energy companies as part of the clean-energy transition, but engagement does not necessarily require investment. Princeton has already shown that divestment is possible, and I hope we continue to use our resources and influence to push for meaningful climate action now, rather than allowing a 2046 target to lessen the urgency of what we can do today.
