Conrad W. Stout ’54

Connie died Nov. 1, 2024.
He prepared at Wilson Boro High School in Easton, Pa., where he was active in basketball, dramatics, and student government.
At Princeton, he majored in civil engineering, served as a research assistant in the department, and was a member of A.S.C.E. He joined Terrace Club, was active in Navy ROTC, and participated in IAA softball, basketball, football, and wrestling.
After graduation Connie worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for four years, initially in New York City (where he married Danica “Danice” Mladinov on Easter Sunday 1956) and then in Pittsburgh and Lewistown, Pa. After two years with Turner Construction and earning an MBA from Lehigh University, he began his longer career in management of physical facilities at colleges — first with Lafayette College, then with Oberlin College, and finally with the Princeton Plasma Physics Lab.. In 1989, he became an independent consultant for numerous major clients.
He retired in 1996 and moved to Sunset Beach, N.C., where he played golf, biked, swam, and was active in the community — serving Meals on Wheels, holding offices in local organizations, and teaching math at the local community college.
Connie was predeceased by Danice in 2019 after 63 years of marriage and by his older brothers Ralph and Gerald. He is survived by sons Bill, Roger, and Mark; grandson Riley; and granddaughter Laurel.
