$500,000 payment to Princeton Township

The University already makes voluntary payments to Princeton Borough and West Windsor Township. The borough received $1.2 million last year, and West Windsor received $50,000.

Princeton University is the largest taxpayer in both Princeton Borough and Princeton Township, including taxes on housing for faculty, staff, and graduate students that the University says might qualify for tax exemption under state law. The issue of whether the University is paying its “fair share” to support local services has become larger during recent political campaigns.
