Maybe the victory bonfire under construction here was the charm that gave the Tigers their 13–7 victory over Dartmouth in 1950. Or perhaps it was the coffin-like “Bed for Dartmouth” that put fear of the Tiger into the Big Green football squad. It didn’t take a bonfire Nov. 17 to help this year’s team score another Dartmouth win; the Tigers defeated the Big Green 17–14 in overtime. Perhaps some PAW readers can identify the students hard at work in this photo.
With Thanksgiving approaching, PAW asked Richardson to shed light on the historical relationship between America’s native people and European colonists by recommending three books on Indigenous literature and history
