Head Wrangler Franklyn A. Harris ’60 (aka “Tex”) posed without his cowboy boots in this 1960 photograph of the Texas Club of Princeton. Other students from the Lone Star state surrounding Harris’ thronelike chair include F. Walter Conrad ’61 (possibly at far right in top row) and James R. Diaz ’61 (possibly at far left in the top row), according to archivists. The late Orren Jack Turner, a lifelong Princeton resident, took the photo. The University’s Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Students currently lists a “Texans Club” that sponsors “social events for Princeton students from Texas.” Can any readers identify other Texan students and the only woman in the photo — or remember what happened to Harris’ boots?
