Luke Cissell’s ’02 fourth release Backwoods is a vibrant album that puts 21st century mountain music on the map. From his more ominous and sinister “Darkling Blue” to the lighter fiddle-tune of “Hearsay,” Cissell shows his versatility as both a musician and  composer at the musical intersection between post-rock and bluegrass.
