Campus pub endorsed; two possible sites offered

Although the proposal to ban freshman membership in Greek organizations drew most of the attention, the report of the Working Group on Campus Social and Residential Life contained a number of other findings and recommendations. These include:

• Re-establishing a campus pub. The report proposed the tap room at Prospect House or the downstairs café at Chancellor Green as possible locations.

• Organizing one or two more campuswide events each year that would attract all classes, such as a major concert, an all-student dance, a battle of the bands, or an annual “birthday party” on Oct. 22 to commemorate the University’s founding.

• Encouraging juniors and seniors to “go home” regularly to their underclass residential colleges as a way of building ties across classes.

• Adding sophomores, juniors, and seniors to advisee groups in the residential colleges.
