In this movie, directed by Vanessa Parise and based on the book by Sarah Beth Durst ’96, Pearl is a regular 16-year-old vampire, at least until she finds out that she is able to withstand sunlight. When her family finds out, they enroll her in high school to gather fresh blood for an upcoming feast. There’s only one problem— Pearl is starting to grow a conscience and isn’t sure if she can offer up her friends to be slaughtered.

Vampires?

I never understood the recent fascination with vampires; I understand even less why the PAW would mention a novel about vampires?
