Football feast

Princeton University Archives

Hours after a season-ending tie against Yale, members of Princeton football’s 1913 squad, including captain Hobey Baker ’14 (at the head of the table with his hand on his chin), shared a celebratory dinner at New York’s Hotel Martinique. This photo of the banquet is one of more than 200 black-and-white images featured in Princeton Football (Arcadia, 2009), a new book by Mark F. Bernstein ’83 that traces the football program’s 140-year history. Bernstein is PAW’s senior writer.
