For the first time since 2001, Princeton men’s soccer earned a spot in the NCAA Championships, receiving an at-large bid after finishing the regular season with a seven-game unbeaten streak.
Princeton (9–6–3) won four of its last five games in the highly competitive Ivy League, which sent four teams to the 48-team NCAA draw, and by season’s end, the Tigers felt like they could beat anyone, coach Jim Barlow ’91 said.
Princeton’s momentum dissipated in the NCAA opening round Nov. 19 when the host Tigers lost 1–0 to Bucknell despite outshooting the Bison 22–11. But even after the early exit, team captain and All-Ivy midfielder Devin Muntz ’10 called the season a success. Princeton started strong, stumbled in a tough midseason stretch, and rallied to finish with the program’s first winning record in five years.
