Rev. Richard Hong '81 tells The New York Times that despite a devastating fire last week, his Englewood, N.J., congregation will endure: 

“Sometimes we start to think that the stones themselves have meaning,” he said from the pulpit, which on Sunday was a lectern on a stage in an ornate auditorium donated so the church’s members could gather for the holiday.

“Those stones are just markers of our encounter with God,” Mr. Hong said, adding, “The meaning of our faith hasn’t changed. That meaning hasn’t moved. That meaning was not consumed by the fire.”
