In praise of '76 Hall

Andrea Kane

The largest of Butler College’s new dorms has been named 1976 Hall, recognizing the class’s 35th-reunion gift to Princeton. During a dedication ceremony May 27, Rosalie Norair ’76 and Mimi Murley ’76, in foreground, and other classmates joined in a chorus of “Old Nassau.” The dorm houses 83 students – most in four-person suites – and one faculty member; a classroom, seminar rooms, and a computer cluster are on the lower level.

“Our class has always felt very engaged with the University, perhaps because we were one of the earliest to be coed from start to finish,” said Ellen Harvey ’76, a member of the organizing committee and a former University trustee. “The gift of 1976 Hall was a classwide effort.”
