JASCHA NARVESON GS’s new composition, “Ripple,” is included on the CD Danny Holt Fast Jump (Innova Recordings), featuring new-music pianist Danny Holt playing new works by five composers. A quiet piece for piano, “Ripple” sways between slightly faster and slower speeds to evoke the feeling of looking into a reflecting pool after stones have been tossed into it. A graduate student in composition, Narveson mixes his formal studies in Western and Indian classical music with influences from cultures around the world
