Filmed over 20 years, Satan & Adam is a gritty documentary that follows blues musicians Sterling “Satan” Magee and Adam Gussow ’79 *00 as they move from busking on the streets of Harlem to international acclaim. Satan and Adam, a Mississippi bluesman and a Jewish Ivy League graduate, are an unlikely duo, whose deep friendship is apparent throughout the documentary, yet the film does not shy away from issues of race, gentrification, art, and anger.
