Slide show: Trash, made beautiful

The University's first "trash sculpture contest" attracted 34 entries with its challenge to members of the campus community and area residents to submit works of art made of materials that otherwise would have been recycled or discarded. According to the rules, each entry had to be created by a team that included at least one child 12 or younger and at least one adult.
