WOMEN’S SOCCER beat St. John’s 2–1 Sept. 6 to record its first win of the season. Alissa Boddie ’12 scored to break a 1-1 tie midway through the second half, and the Tigers held on to the lead. Princeton was 1–3 in its first four games.

After dropping the season’s first three matches, WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL picked up its first win under coach Jolie Ward Sept. 9, beating Seton Hall 3–1. The Tigers lost three matches at the Villanova Classic Sept. 11–12, falling to 1–6 for the season.

Two close defeats spoiled MEN’S WATER POLO’s opening weekend Sept. 11–13. After losing 17–4 to fourth-ranked UCLA, Princeton rebounded with a 16–8 win over Harvard. But the Tigers could not sustain their scoring spree. Santa Clara edged Princeton 7–6, and Brown held off a fourth-period rally to beat the Tigers 6–5.
