In this comedy-drama, production assistant Salam is a low-level employee for the Palestinian soap opera Tel Aviv on Fire. Every day on his way to work, he must pass through a military checkpoint where he strikes up an unlikely relationship with an Israeli commander, whose wife enjoys the show. After Salam becomes a writer, the commander begins feeding him ideas, forcing Salam to balance between them with the soap opera’s Arab backers. Tel Aviv on Fire (Cohen Media Group) is a sharp satire of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and war in general.
