This collection of new and selected poems composed from 1969 to 2009 won the 2010 Connecticut Book Award for Poetry, presented annually for the most outstanding volume of poetry written by someone with residence or roots in Connecticut. The volume focuses in part on the extent to which McQuilkin and those he admires have weathered the worst that life has thrown at them.
