Divestment Activism Undone by Princo

Often, it seems, those who fight to maintain the status quo at the University recognize and exploit the challenges of maintaining momentum towards progress. Student activists will eventually graduate and move on; how much do alumni really pay attention or care, anyway? It is a shame that this hard-fought and well-earned step towards a University actually in the service of humanity has been so easily undone by Princo.

I echo the calls of my fellow alumni for bravery, principle, and leadership. Princeton has the material and cultural status to make real, sustainable change here. As my classmate Graham Turk ’17 has argued, our responsibility as alumni is to withhold donations until redivestment is a reality.
