This World War II vet could not refrain from correcting the double error in the caption to the “Monuments Men” photo in the June 2 issue. Ernest DeWald *14 *16 wears the insignia of a lieutenant colonel, not a lieutenant. (That error is corrected in the text.) Perry Cott ’29 wears the sleeve stripes of a lieutenant commander, not a lieutenant. As Cmdr. Cott was not mentioned in the text (of the otherwise splendid article by W. Barksdale Maynard ’88), it is more important to correct that error. I’m sure that DeWald and Cott would be pleased to know that a mere U.S.N.R. EM 3/C wanted them to be properly ranked.

Please keep up the splendid work on PAW.
