Exit Garden State (Lost Horse Press) is a poetry collection traversing an emotional landscape as diverse as its geography. From an industrial upbringing in New Jersey to an adulthood in the woodlands of New England, across the ocean to Lisbon’s labyrinths and Ireland’s gravesites, Hennessy explores themes of ancestry, migration, and the intertwining experiences of parent and child.
