The City of Our Dreaming

The City of Our Dreaming (Duke University Press) is the written record of the third annual Alchemy Lecture. The series brings together “alchemists” who reflect on the world and offer their perspectives for the future. Khalili, Pereira, Simpson, and McEwen share their ideas for future cities that cater to the needs of the community. Among them are ideas of radical kinship through reciprocal giving and designing buildings that meet basic needs and promote unity across a city. The City of Our Dreaming calls on readers to imagine cities in new ways and challenge society’s notions of what is possible.
