Classics, Love, Revolution

This volume offers the first translation of Luigi Settembrini’s The Neoplatonists — a celebration of queer love and sexuality — into English. Together, Capra and Graziosi read the work in its cultural and political context. They argue that the study of Greco-Roman history and culture today can and should be combined with a commitment to social justice. Through the lens of Settembrini’s work, Graziosi and Capra explore new ways to study and interpret the classics of yore in Classics, Love, Revolution (Oxford University Press).
