In 2022, during a period of creative and emotional uncertainty, Marianne Apostolides ’94 encountered a scientific article that would change the way she thought about the human mind. Soon thereafter, that discovery would lead her to interview the paper’s lead author and, ultimately, to a broader investigation of how neuroscience is reshaping our understanding of mental health. In Go/No-Go (Book*hug Press), Apostolides chats with leading neuroscientists about emerging research, experimental approaches, and new treatments for mental disorders, while drawing on her own experiences to make the science more accessible. Along the way, she describes the flaws and failures of our current approaches to mental health, while also imagining what the future of care might look like.
