Visiting
In this touching memoir, Blakemore writes candidly about her journey as a caregiver for her mother at the end of her life. Blakemore’s mother entered hospice as she faced dementia and depression and was told she only had a few months to live. What Blakemore believed would be a small sliver of time turned into two and a half years of visits with her mother where they watched television, counted pills, and experienced this delicate time together. Visiting (Atmosphere Press) is an emotional portrait of Blakemore’s experience documenting her mother’s transition from life to death and the value of their time together.
