Addison Clark Waid Jr. ’34

CLARK WAID, who retired in 1973 as manager of marketing research at the General Electric Co.'s Nela Park Lamp Division after 39 years, died Apr. 20, 1993, at his home in Pepper Pike, Ohio.

Having graduated from college Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude in economics, Clark joined General Electric and studied nights for the degree he was awarded in 1939 by the John Marshall School of Law. In 1936, he represented Cleveland in the national clay courts tennis competition, and in WWII, he served as a Marine first lieutenant in the Marshall Islands. In 1974, he was a member of the Cleveland Senior Council, an organization of retired executives and professionals. In 198 1, he became its president.

A widower, Clark is survived by two sons, Addison C 111 '66 and Thomas W; a daughter, Sally R.; two grandchildren, and a sister. To them we offer our sincere sympathies.
