ALBERT MELVIN SKELLETT, astrophysicist and teacher' died at the age of 90, on Aug. 12, 1991, in Sarasota, Fla. Dr. Skellett was born in St. Louis and earned a bachelor's degree and a master's degree at Washington Univ. in 1924 and 1927, respectively. At Princeton, he earned his doctorate in astrophysical sciences in 1933, an achievement in which he took special pride and satisfaction, according to his daughter. His professional activities included 15 years with Bell Laboratories, the vice presidency of Nat. Union Electric Corp. and nine years of service as a consultant to the Dept. of Defense in Washington, D.C. He also taught at the Univ. of Florida (Gainesville) for many years. His wife, Adele, predeceased him in 1989. He is survived by two daughters, Carol and Patricia, and six grandchildren. To his family, friends, and former students, we extend heartfelt sympathy.
