Albert R. De Baker ’22

WE ANNOUNCE with deep sorrow the passing of Albert de Russy Baker in Scarsdale, N.Y., at the age of 9 1. He died in his sleep on July 22, 1992, after a brief illness. Al was born in Providence, R.I., in 1901, attended Moses Brown School, Princeton, and Harvard Law School. At Princeton, he was a member of Clio Hall and Charter Club and served as a private in the S.A.TC.

In 1933, he married Edina Davis, who predeceased him. He practiced law in Rhode Island and New York, moving to Scarsdale in 1942. In 1961, he changed careers, joining Delafield and Delafield as a broker and officer of the company, continuing in that capacity after the firm merged with Janney Montgomery Scott. He retired in 1983. Bake is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carol Ray Green and Mrs. Ann Borowik Coleman; eight grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
