Alexander Lofthouse ’31

ALEX DIED May 3, 1993, in Florida. He prepared at Choate School. While at Princeton, he was a member of the gym team, the lacrosse squad, Clio Hall, and Gateway Club. From 193138, Alex was an investment salesman for Bodell and Co. in Providence. He served in the navy during W1~711 and left the service as a lieutenant in Dec. 1945. Alex lived in Nassau, Bahamas, where he was president of Lofthouse, Ltd., a company that included many business ventures. He was president of the Princeton Club of Nassau, and a member of the Princeton Club of New York. He traveled frequently and extensively both for pleasure and business. Alex retired from merchandising and real estate in 1967, but remained active as chairman of the Baillou Hill Estates and director of Island Merchants, Ltd. He also belonged to the Rotary Club of Nassau and the Royal Nassau Sailing Club. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Grand Cayman. He is survived by his widow, Folio, to whom the class sends its sympathy.
