Alfred B. Rode ’33

AL RODE, who for many years divided his time between the Westchester Country Club and the Ocean Reef Club at Key Largo, Fla., died June 5, 1991, at the Deering Hospital in Miami. A memorial service was held at the William Graham Funeral Home in Rye, N.Y.

Al was born Aug. 3, 1909, in N.Y.C. He prepared at Hotchkiss. In college he was in the Glee Club, and was a member of Cap and Gown. He roomed with Arch Brooks, A] Whitlock, Nat Gifford, and Jim Tenscher.

After college Al joined the family firm, Rode and Brand Lithography Co., of which he became president. The firm was acquired by StecherTraung.

On March 27, 1941, A] married Innes Stewart Kensington, on Long Island. They had two sons, Andrew and Malcolm, who survive. On Sept. 23, 1955, Al married Evelyn Hughes, who predeceased him. She had two sons, Frederick and John Wendt, who survive.

To all the family, the Class of'33 extends its sympathy.
