Andrew D. Berkey II ’45

Body

Andy Berkey died April 6, 2011, at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Andy entered Princeton from the Latin School of Chicago and joined Cottage Club. His Princeton career was terminated by service in the Army Air Corps, during which he saw action in Europe as a navigator on a B-24. Upon return to the United States, he moved to Los Angeles, where he opened a stock brokerage under the name of B.W.A. Inc.

Golf was a lifelong passion for Andy, who played at Los Angeles Country Club, where his handicap was usually under 10. Andy and his family became devoted to Hawaii, where they spent much time. At his request, his ashes are going to be scattered in the ocean at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

Andy was devoted to his family and known for his consideration of others and generosity to many. He was predeceased by his wives Emma and Jacquelyn, but is survived by sons Andy III and John and by one granddaughter. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
