Andrew M. Plummer ’69
THE CLASS NOTES with sadness the death of Andrew M. Plummer Oct. 13, 1994, in Boston. Andy prepared at the Hill School. Originally, he entered Princeton with the Class of '68. During his junior year, in Paris, he became ill, and returned to Princeton the following fall as a member of our class. Andy got his degree in Romance languages and did graduate work at Stanford in French and German.
He then taught French at Phillips Academy, the Univ. of Massachusetts, and at the Harvard Divinity School. He also worked in the development office at M.I.T. and with several law firms.
A gifted linguist and musician who was active in the Glee Club and the Chapel Choir, Andy is remembered by Bill Stowe as "playing rapturous Chopin and Beethoven for his clubmates in the lower living room at Terrace Club." He was president of Terrace senior year and remembered his Princeton years in great detail and with intense fondness.
Andy is survived by his mother, Charlotte, and his sister, Peggy Plummer Spence. His death follows that of his father, James Plummer '34. His memory is cherished by his many friends.
