Anthony Bonevitch ’87

Tony came to Princeton from Central High School in Scranton, Pa. He majored in history, played football, and belonged to Tiger Inn. Tony was a treasured friend to many in our class. He had a grounded perspective on life, an easygoing personality, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was an open-minded and kind person who always made time to listen attentively.

After Princeton, Tony moved home to Scranton, where he worked and raised his son, Ryan, whom he considered his greatest achievement in life. They loved spending time together listening to music, playing sports, and seeking new adventures. Just before Tony died, they traveled to Hawaii with family for the trip of a lifetime. Tony enjoyed life’s simple pleasures such as his Thursday-night dart league, where he and his partner, Lisa, spent time with his friends.  

Tony is survived by Ryan; his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Bonevitch; Lisa; his ex-wife, Kathy Maita; his sisters, Christine Uslin and her husband, Lou, and Wendy Stevens and her husband, Paul; a brother, Thomas, and his wife, Carmel; niece Lauren Uslin; nephews Stephen Bonevitch and Jake Stevens; and other family. The class extends deepest sympathy to them all.
