Body

TONY DIED at his home in Washington, D.C., on July 13, 1992, after a courageous fight against cancer. Born in Vienna, Austria, in 1923, he entered Princeton via Stowe School (England) and Lawrenceville. A true Renaissance Man, he combined an outstanding business career with a lifelong love for and participation in music and the theater. A gourmet chef, he was also a fine magician,

At Princeton, Tony was active in the Triangle Club, Theater Intime, and Glee Club; and he founded the Princeton Photo Service. Following graduation with a degree in chemical engineering, he joined Hercules Powder Co. and later served as a scientific consultant to the U.S. Army of occupation in Germany. From 1949 to 1969, he was an executive with several companies, before beginning a 19year career with General Foods Corp. as V.P. in charge of acquisitions. He retired in 1988 and then worked in New York as adviser to the Londonbased Midland Bank's international clients in the food industry. He was also a founder and past president of the Assn, for Corporate Growth and a board member of The Acting Company, founded by the famed actor/director John Housman.

Those who knew Tony will always cherish his charm, wit, joie de vivre, and warm friendship. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, the former Patricia Cecil; two sons, Anthony and John '83; a daughter, Elizabeth; and a granddaughter. To all of them the Class extends its heartfelt sympathy.
