Anthony J. Sessa ’29

Body

Tony died Nov. 17, 1994. He prepared at Polytechnic Prep. At Princeton, he roomed one year with John Alley. His lifelong interest in lacrosse began at Princeton and he was named an all-American.

He went to Columbia Law after Princeton and practiced in Brooklyn for most of his life, except for the war years. He served in the Air Force, retiring as major and had a profusion of medals and 13 battle stars.

Always interested in the welfare of young people, he was repeatedly appointed to the N.Y.C. Youth Board. He was active in Rotary Club affairs, the Brooklyn Neighborhood Homes, the Brooklyn Psychiatric Center, and the Red Cross.

In Dec. 1941, he married Inez Cavatino. His survivors include two sons, Joseph '64 and Anthony J. '68, who was originally named Elliott, in honor of our classmate Buzz, his father's closest friend. Anthony's own son is named Anthony Elliott, in honor of both our classmates. The class extends its sympathy to Tony's family.
