Armand London Fell ’34

Body

ARM FELL DIED at his home in Snow Hill, Md., Dec. 22, 1993. He was president of the Henry R. Fell Co., roofing and sheetmetal contractors in Trenton, until his retirement in 1982. He joined the family business, founded by his greatgrandfather in 1872, in 1934. A native of Trenton, he had a long line of prominent ancestors, including Samuel Spencer of North Carolina, a member of the first class (1759) to matriculate in Nassau Hall.

Arm is believed to be the only classmate to have attended every one of our reunions, from our first, in 1935, to our 59th last year. He reported several of our reunions in PAW, most recently in 1991.

As a navy officer in the South Pacific in WWII, Arm was "one of the lucky survivors" after his ship, the U.S.S. Ross, "took a severe beating" in the Leyte Gulf operation.

Surviving are Arm's widow, Mary, who he married in 1984; two sons, Armand L. Jr. '62 and Jonathan R. 11; four stepdaughters; and several grandchildren. Mrs. Gordon D. Griffin w'40 is his sister.
