Arthur Aloysius Appert Jr. ’45

Art entered Princeton from Canterbury School and joined Dial Lodge. His military service was with the 89th Infantry Division, where he served as an aide to the commanding general. The division saw combat in France and Germany. Returning to Princeton, he received a degree in economics in 1947 and next earned a degree from Harvard Business School in 1949.  

Art’s career in business and advertising began with two years at the Aluminum Company of Canada. He spent many years working for General Foods Corp. in New York. Later he worked for Sunshine Biscuits and as a private consultant to industry in the New York metropolitan area. At the time of his death, Art lived in Stamford, Conn.  

He is survived by five of his six children: Christine Appert, Kevin Appert, Denise Appert McGraw, Stephanie Appert, and David Appert; and six grandchildren. The class expresses its sympathy to the family.
