Body

Art died July 12, 2011, in Dallas, Texas.

He graduated cum laude from The Lawrenceville School. At Princeton he majored in history and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to receive a law degree from Harvard Law School and became a specialist in labor law, serving as an attorney with the Boston firm of Warner, Stackpole, Stetson & Bradlee, and later with the Office of the Solicitor of the Labor Department in Washington, D.C. In 1942 he moved to Texas and was counsel with the firm of Geary, Stahl & Spencer.

Art was a member of the American Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. He wrote articles, gave lectures, and loved gardening. Among his hobbies were Mayan archaeology, photography, and scuba diving.

Unfortunately, his first wife, Virginia, died but he subsequently married Priscilla, who survives him along with his children, Emily Adele Riggs Freeman, Keith Holloway, and George Bennett; stepsons Curtis, Kevin, and Michael McCormack; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

To his wife, family, and friends, we extend our sincere sympathy and fond remembrances of a true and trusted friend.
