ART TERRELL, who was a prominent lawyer in Houston, Tex., and a past president of the Bar Association, died Jan. 10, 1990. A funeral service was held Jan. 13 at Christ Church Cathedral, which was filled.

Art was born Jan. 23, 1910, in Navasota, Tex., and later moved to Houston. He prepared at Lawrenceville.

In college Art was a member of the tennis team, the band, manager of swimming, and president of Charter Club. He roomed with Bob West, Bert Brush, Charlie Brown, and Charlie Fitzmorris.

After college Art studied law at the Univ. of Texas, receiving his degree in 1936. He practiced law in Houston until WWII, when he spent five years in the Army Air Forces. He became a lt. Col.

After the war Art joined the law firm that is now Butler and Binion, from which he retired as a senior partner. He was very active in the affairs of Christ Church Cathedral, St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, the Houston Country Club, and was the president of the Camp Fire Girls of America.

On Jan. 7, 1939, Art married Lorna Hune in Eagle Pass, Tex. She survives him, as do their children, Lorna Hume Terrell and William A. Terrell, both of Houston.

The Class of '33 has suffered a severe loss, and expresses its deep sympathy to all the family.
