Arthur T. Dietz *53

Mike was born in Limestone, Maine, where his father served at Loring Air Force Base. The family moved to overseas postings in France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. Mike graduated from Upper Heyford/Croughton High School in Oxfordshire, U.K., and spent a postgraduate year at Exeter, where he caught the attention of Princeton’s coaching staff.

At Princeton, Mike studied history and excelled in athletics as captain of the track team, earning four-time All-Ivy honors and holding the record in the triple jump. Mike’s roommates included Tom Brotherton ’82, Augie Wolf, and Brad Urschel.  

For the last 25 years, Mike lived with his devoted wife, Sherry Rush Gray; and his three children, Jessica ’10, Michael, and Lauren; and worked as a quality-assurance manager with Hydrogel Design Systems in Langhorne, Pa.  

He was a dedicated member of Abundant Life Fellowship, where he also was a minister and teacher. He deeply loved his family. Mike’s warmth, enthusiasm, and good nature touched many over the years. Our class extends deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
