Augustus Kinloch Maxwell Jr. ’41

Body

GUS MAXWELL DIED in Chicago May 22, 1991. He was a lifelong bachelor and his nextofkin are unknown to the Class.

Gus prepared at Chicago Latin, roomed alone at 23 Campbell, was a member of Court Club, and majored in modern languages. Until he sold it in 1963, he was the sole proprietor of the Wirebound Box Company in Macon, Ga. After that he devoted his time to charitable organizations. We know that he claimed no interest in sports but did enjoy sunning and surfing vacations. Although he didn't attend Class functions, Gus was a loyal duespayer and usually gave at Annual Giving time. We wish we had known him better.
