Ben Cheeseman, technical writer and librarian, died Dec. 18, 1994, in Cambridge, Md.

A Kent School graduate, Ben majored in English and graduated magna cum laude. He taught first at prep school and then at Drew Univ. and Univ. of Cincinnati, where he earned his master's. He saw service in the Army Air Force from 1943-45. From 1951 until he retired in 1971, he was a technical librarian for defense firms Hercules Powder and Lockheed Corp. He was an active volunteer in the emergency room in a hospital in Marietta, Ga. An avid fisherman, he was a long-time member of Trout Unlimited.

He and his wife, Lucile Brooking, touched many lives with their compassion and hands-on Christianity. After her death in 1990, he moved to Easton, Md., to be near his daughter, Anne Stalfort. She survives, as do his sons, Benbow Jr. and Robert, and five grandchildren. His classmates send their condolences.
