Bradford Darrach Campbell ’30

Brad died unexpectedly on June 15 at SL Francis Hospital in Hartford, Conn. Phil Steinmetz had visited with him just two days earlier and reported that Brad was his usual self. His sister, Jane, said that his last years were made especially happy because he lived in Madison, Conn., a place he knew well and loved from the summers he spent with his family at his grandfather's home there as a youth. At the time of his death, he had been staying at the Kimberly Hall Nursing Home, and we know that old friends, including our Tom Miles and Al Covolo, kept in touch.

Brad was born in Elizabeth, N.J., and lived there most of his life. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and, throughout his life, retained a strong interest in the Scouting movement. He was the valedictorian at the Pin¬gry School and at Princeton was active in the St. Paul's Society and Whig Hall. Brad never married. He spent a year with Chemical Bank of New York and then switched to life insurance at Mutual Life of New York, where he had a very successful career that lasted until he retired about 25 years ago. He served as a director of the Prince¬ton Alumni Assn. and on occasion gave Wally a hand with Annual Giving. His hobbies included bridge and bird-watching, and walking was his primary exercise. He is survived by his sister, Jane (Mrs. Charles) Bannerman w'26, of N.Y.C.; a niece, Anne Bowes, of New Hampshire; and three cousins. We send them our sincere sympathy.
