Bryan Robert Zech ’03

Body

Bryan Robert Zech died suddenly Sept. 27, 2008, in Southern California. He was 27.

Bryan grew up in Irvine, Calif., where he graduated from Mater Dei High School as a standout in both athletics and scholarship. He was a top golfer in the state and went on to play for Princeton’s golf team.

Bryan was heavily entrenched in the Princeton community. He was a member of Cottage Club and Kappa Alpha Order — the same club and fraternity of our late classmate Michael Brownstein — and also volunteered as a youth basketball coach for the town’s recreational league. He earned his bachelor’s degree in politics and economics.

Bryan attended the University of Southern California Law School, graduating as a member of Order of the Coif in 2006. He was executive editor of the Interdisciplinary Law Journal, class representative on USC Law’s Young Alumni Committee, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.

Bryan went on to work as an associate for Latham & Watkins in Orange County, where he was working at the time of his tragic passing.

Bryan will be remembered as a great friend to many — staunchly loyal, charismatic, and witty.

He is survived by his mother, Shannon; father Gene; brother Jeff; grandmother Marilyn McPhee; and the extended family. The class extends heartfelt sympathy to Bryan’s family and friends.
