ATHLETE AND ENTHUSIASTIC '37ER Larry Crawford died Dec. 20, 1994. With first wife, Evelyn, he had children Barbara and James. He married his second wife, Evelyn, in 1962. She died in 1984. He leaves third wife, Marion, who he married in 1986, and a stepdaughter. He had four grandchildren, a great­granddaughter, and four step-grandchildren.

Larry prepared at Beaver H.S. and Kiski. At Prince­ton, he majored in geology and was a member of Tiger Inn. He won the Kellogg Cup Award in 1934 for his freshman baseball record and was on the varsity basketball and baseball teams.

He first played professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies. He struck out his first batter, Hall of Famer Mel Ott. After baseball, he was shear foreman for the Pittsburgh Crucible Steel Co. and the Harrisburg Seed Corp. After a short hitch in the Army in field artillery, he started his own partnership in 1946, Commonwealth Business Service, in Harrisburg. From 1951-57 he was chief inspector of steel manufacturing with the Natl. Radiator Co. in Middletown, Pa. Most of his life, he was an operations superintendent with the Crane Co. and he retired as a consultant with Steel Fabricators. The class send its condolences to his family.
