Carl Blake Nigel Dixon ’35

"PETE" DIXON, retired president of Saltcake Sales, died in Greenwich, Conn., Nov. 21, 1992, after an extended illness.

Pete was born in Richmond, England, but moved with his parents to the U.S. at age seven. They lived mostly in the GreenwichRiverside area of Connecticut. He came to Princeton from Greenwich H.S. and majored in chemistry.

After graduating, Pete held several jobs, including a wareffort assignment with HomeLite Corp. In 1946, he and his father and brother founded Harry Dixon & Sons, a chemical importing firm later known as Saltcake Sales.

He was a founding member of the Princeton Alumni Assn. of Greenwich and was active in alumni affairs. His hobbies were sailing, chiefly at Riverside Yacht Club (at which he had been a member of the board and had served on several committees). He was also interested in camping and sports.

Pete traveled extensively by automobile, managing to visit a large part of North America, including Alaska, Key West, California, and Nova Scotia.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara D. Jackson and Pamela D. Harris, and four grandchildren. To them, the class extends its sincerest sympathy.
