Carl William Schulz ’28

CARL DIED Dec. 12, 1992, at Wilmette, Ill. He prepared at Lawrenceville. At Princeton, he was on the fencing team and was a member of Gateway Club. He left Princeton in junior year in order to study at Northwestern Univ. Law School, from which he received the J.D. degree in 1930.

Carl practiced law in Chicago for 60 years, and in the same building for 42 years. He was a publicspirited citizen, serving on the school board of District 39 in Wilmette and of New Trier Township. He was active in the Boy Scout Troop in Wilmette. He was a life member of the Art Institute of Chicago, and was active in local and denominational responsibilities in the Lutheran Church. One of his trips to Europe was a special tour of the Lutheran historical places in Germany.

Carl was married to Cornelia Ernst on July 16, 1932. They had four children, Cornelia Day, Carl Jr., John '61, and Judith Nasaw. Carl's wife, Cornelia, died Oct. 12, 1979. Carl later married Dorothy Tocher. He is survived by her, his four children, 15 grandchildren, and several greatgrandchildren. Carl's three brothers, now deceased, were Otto Jr. '23, George '29, and William '34.

Carl was an enthusiast for Princeton Reunions, and in recent years attended several offyear reunions, as well as the 50th, 55th, and 60th. He was greatly respected by his classmates, and we will miss his congenial friendship. The sympathy of the Class is with Dorothy and the members of his family.
