Carleton M. Strouss ’29

CARL DIED Feb. 2, 1994, in Carlisle, Penn. He prepared at Mt. Carmel H.S. and Mercersburg. At Princeton, he was a firstplace medalist in cross-country and was in the Glee Club. He was in Arbor Inn and Johnny Warmer was his roommate. He went to Dickinson School of Law, and entered law practice in Mt. Carmel.

During the war, Carl rose from private to captain; he served for 15 months as legal officer in the military government of Korea. After the war, he became professionally associated with his nephew, Frank Strouss Morrison, and his son, Carleton O. Strouss. He served as president of the Northumberland County Bar Assn., and also served as borough solicitor in Mt. Carmel and as attorney for the local industrial fund.

He was president of the Mt. Carmel Rotary Club, on the board of governors of the Fountain Springs Country Club, president of the Union Natl. Bank, a member of the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge.

In 1951, he married Florence Albertini, who predeceased him. He is survived by his son, Carleton 0., to whom the class extends sincere sympathy.
