CARLTON A. MACDONALD JR. ’54

Born in Freeport, N.Y., he graduated from the Lawrenceville School. While at Princeton, he majored in politics and was a member of Cottage Club. Active in many campus activities, he also was a star on the wrestling team.  

Carlton subsequently graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. After practicing internal medicine at the North Shore Medical Group in Huntington, N.Y., he became an advanced career fellow in the Department of Radiation Therapy at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He was director of therapeutic radiology at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, Conn., from 1973 until his retirement in 1998.

Carlton is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons Christopher and David; and three grandchildren. The class extends its sympathy to them in their loss.
