Carol Warren Welsh ’92

Carol died Dec. 29, 2021, of adult ependymoma, a rare brain and spine tumor. 

She grew up in McLean, Va., and attended the Madeira School, where she met lifelong friend Eleanor Harrison Bregman ’92. At Princeton she majored in anthropology with a concentration in Latin American studies and was a member of Tower Club. She roomed with Jen Roos ’92 for three years. She was a member of the golf team and a varsity swimmer. A highlight of her time at Princeton was successfully fighting to upgrade the women’s golf team from club to varsity status.

Carol was a Project ’55 intern in Chicago before working in the telecom industry. She earned an MBA from the College of William and Mary in 2000 two weeks after being diagnosed with ependymoma. Carol was well known in the brain tumor community for her website (adultependymomabraintumor.com) and for raising nearly $200,000 for the Brain Tumor Society through the annual Race for Hope.
